Apple Artists of 2022

An Eye for Apple Art
Posted on 09/19/2022

Most Creative, Best Use of Color and Best Apple Message were the categories of the 2022 Apple Art Awards, and the student artists of Elyria Schools did not disappoint.

Hundreds of students in grades three through 12 submitted their work for the juried competition. Nine total art pieces earned first, second or third place in the three main categories of Most Creative, Best Use of Color and Best Apple-themed Message.

One winner also earned the title, "Best of Show," as the judges' overall top selection. This year that award went to Harmonie Kron of Elyria High School for her mixed-media piece showing an apple eye with lashes, and an image of the world holding a heart, as it's pupil.

The Apple Art Award competition is a staple event at the Elyria Apple Festival, and one that the Elyria City School District has participated in for many decades.

Congratulations to the many fine artists who participated in the event this year, and to the art educators who help them further their talents throughout their educational career in the Elyria Schools.
