GREAT NEWS!

All K-12 students in Elyria Schools are now eligible for FREE school meals

K-12 students throughout Elyria Schools have the opportunity to enjoy free meals thanks to the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the National School Lunch Program.
CEP lets eligible school districts provide nutritious meals—breakfast and lunch—at no cost to students.
“We are thrilled to offer this option to our students,” Superintendent Ann Schloss said. “We know that nutrition and learning go hand in hand. This initiative not only supports our kids, it eases the financial strain on our families.”
Through the CEP, all students can receive breakfast and lunch at no cost, regardless of their family's income level. Elyria Schools has become one of the many districts now eligible for this initiative, thanks to the USDA's expansion of eligibility requirements.
For more information, please contact the Elyria Schools Foodservice Department at 440-284-5225.

Household Income Forms

Students are enjoying complimentary school meals due to the district's participation in the the CEP component of the National School Lunch Program. All K-12 students are eligible to receive free meals under CEP and parents are no longer required to fill out the free and reduced-price meal forms that were used to determine eligibility in the past, however districts that are participating in CEP may still be required to collect household income forms from families. This information is required by the state to ensure the district continues receiving crucial funding for services such as tutoring, and intervention and enrichment. Additionally, household income information is required for CEP districts to waive school fees.

Please rest assured that the CEP benefits are secure; all K-12 students can access free meals under this program. However, your assistance in completing the Household Income Form is essential for the district to continue receiving funding for services that directly benefit our students. An electronic version of the Household Income Form will be sent out to parents soon

Nutrition & Allergen Info

To view detailed nutrition & allergen information, please visit our district Nutrislice page: https://elyriaschools.nutrislice.com/menu. Menus can be filtered by school and meal period. Menus are also available in Spanish through the Nutrislice page.

Payschools Accounts

The district uses Payschools to manage student meal transactions in the cafeteria. All parents are encouraged to create a Payschools account at https://www.payschoolscentral.com/. From there, you can view your students’ transaction history, add money to their account for snack purchases and pay off any unpaid meal balances that accrued prior to universal free meals.
